East African Safari Air Express (SAX) is set to re-launch flights to Juba in an expansion plan that will also see the carrier start services to Entebbe, Uganda. The airline, which is in the process of acquiring more aircraft, will launch the new flights in November. This is what Juba city, the capital of South Sudan now looks like on a regular day -- traffic jams, businesses sprouting on almost every street corner, police patrols, new buildings being constructed and people going about their business. A few years ago, the streets were not this busy. But in the last year the town has grown tremendously despite numerous challenges the country has experienced. The city has attracted both citizens and foreigners alike, as have many other towns across South Sudan. Markos ice-cream store sells cakes, popcorn, and of course ice cream. The East African Community is urged to workout a binding solution to the current political and military impasse in the neighboring South Sudan, a country where Uganda and Kenya have considerable business representation. Officials of the Uganda Traders' Association of South Sudan, are also raising concern that there is ongoing insistence for their members to reopen shop, amidst growing fear of military movement.
